Tom Gorman, a 25-year town meeting representative from Dedham, and long-time activist in the Republican party, is a candidate for Norfolk County Commissioner.

Gorman recently turned in 1,501 certified signatures to the Elections Department to qualify as a candidate. In 2006, Gorman, a small business owner in Dedham, ran for county commissioner and received over 75,000 votes, from voters in Norfolk County, which encompasses 28 cities and towns, with a population of 650,000. 

The election is Nov. 4 and there are two county commissioner positions open.

Gorman is an alumnus of Cardinal Spellman High School (Brockton, MA), Massasoit Community College (Brockton, MA). and the University of Massachusetts (Amherst, MA). He is a licensed real estate broker (MA) and an avid golfer as a member of Norfolk Golf Club.

Gorman is associated with many civic, charitable and political organizations. They include the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Columbus (‘92-’07), St. Susanna’s Parish, Norfolk County Lung Association, Citizens for Dedham Neighborhood Alliance, Dedham Citizens Action Group, Norfolk County Republican Club, Dedham Republican Town Committee, Massachusetts Association of Realtors, Greater Boston Real Estate Board, National Association of Realtors, Golf Writers Association of America and Association of Notary Public.
